About Talking Portals
A smaller, more personal corner of the internet.
Talking Portals is a social site for sharing stuff you actually want to talk about.
Games, books, places, weird internet finds, recommendations, random thoughts - whatever you think is worth showing somebody else.
I started building it because I missed the part of the internet that felt smaller, more personal, and a little weird. Not everything needs to be optimized for engagement or shoved into an endless feed.
Here, you can make a profile, post things, reply, react, and browse what other people are sharing. Community Spotlight is also a place for recommending things you genuinely think other people should know about.
Talking Portals is still growing, and I'm figuring parts of it out as I go.
Mostly, I just want it to be a fun little corner of the internet.
Community Guidelines
Talking Portals works best when people share things in good faith and treat each other like real people.
- Do not harass, threaten, bully, or target people.
- Do not spam the feed or flood replies.
- Do not impersonate another person or pretend to represent someone else.
- Do not post illegal content or encourage illegal harm.
- Do not post sexual, hateful, or graphic content that ruins the space for others.
- Do not deliberately wreck the place just to get a reaction.
If something feels off, report it. A moderator can review it and decide whether to dismiss the report, remove the content, or suspend the account.
